Zakah Distribution

Zakat is one of the five pillars that Allah t'ala has made fardh on Muslims. What many of us forget is that zakat is not charity, but an obligation upon all Muslims that are able to pay it. Zakat is paying a fixed amount of 2.5% of your savings to Muslim people that meet the criteria to receive it. Charity goes beyond Zakat in the forms of Sadaqah, lillah, and donations to people who are non-Muslim.
